We are seeking dedicated and experienced Home Tutors with nanny responsibilities for two of our clients in Somalia and Tanzania respectively. This unique role combines the nurturing care of a nanny with the educational support of a home tutor, catering to elementary-aged children. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding the children in their academic studies, managing their daily routines and providing a safe and enriching environment.
Responsibilities
- Educational Support:
- Provide one-on-one tutoring for elementary school subjects, including math, reading, writing, sciences etc.
- Assess the children's learning needs and tailor lesson plans to suit their individual learning styles.
- Assist with homework and school projects, ensuring comprehension and completion.
- Incorporate creative teaching methods to keep the children engaged and motivated.
- Childcare Duties:
- Oversee the children's daily routines, including preparation of schedules.
- Engage the children in various activities outside of schoolwork, such as outdoor play, arts and crafts and educational games.
- Manage behavior and discipline in a positive and consistent manner, aligned with the family's values.
- Ensure the children's safety and well-being at all times.
- Organize and manage the children's schedules, including extracurricular activities and appointments.
- Communication:
- Regularly communicate with parents about the children's academic progress, behavior and any concerns.
- Collaborate with parents to ensure consistency in routines, discipline and expectations.
- Be a reliable and trustworthy presence in the home, maintaining confidentiality and respect for the family's privacy.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent Course.
- Post-qualification teaching experience, preferably at least a year
- Experience of teaching young learners
- Excellent in English Speaking, reading and writing.
- Have up-to-date knowledge about learning theories, techniques and resources.
- Ability to take supervision and correction constructively
- Ability to positively supervise students
- Patient, positive, consistent, dependable and cooperative with a sense of humor
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Valid passport
- Must be willing to relocate to Somalia or Tanzania for the duration of the employment.
