About our client: Their mission is to create climate-resilient communities around the world. By harnessing a circular economy, they transform agricultural waste into Bio-Grow, a high-impact soil-regenerating biochar compost, which will be returned to our network of over 100,000 smallholder farmers in Kenya, all whilst sequestering 25,000 Tonnes of CO2 annually. They are developing a portfolio of projects across East and South Africa that will sequester 300K Tonnes of CO2 annually in 2025.
As the Logistics and Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our logistics operations. Your primary focus will be on managing logistics, deliveries, and fleets, ensuring timely deliveries of their biochar-based fertilizer products. Additionally, you will coordinate with input suppliers for pick-ups and manage driver rotas to optimize operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of logistics, including planning, coordination, and execution of the transportation of our biochar-based fertilizer products.
- Coordinate and monitor deliveries to customers, ensuring that they are conducted in a timely and efficient manner.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of the organization's fleet of vehicles used for product transportation, ensuring they are in good condition and compliant with regulations.
- Coordinate with input suppliers to arrange collections of agricultural waste for biochar production, ensuring a steady and reliable feedstock supply.
- Develop and manage driver schedules and rotas to ensure that transportation operations are well-organized and meet delivery deadlines.
- You will work closely with other teams to manage inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock of fertilizer products to meet customer demands.
- Collaborate with the production team, you will ensure that all products meet quality standards before distribution, maintaining the organization's reputation for excellence.
- Continuously evaluate logistics and operations processes, conducting risk analysis and seeking opportunities for improvement in efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage stock levels and work with the commercial team to fulfill customer orders.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in managing logistics and operations, preferably in the agricultural or similar industry.
- Degree in Business Administration or related course
- Strong Organizational Skills. You will be handling multiple tasks and coordinating complex operations.
- Must have Warehouse Management Experience
- Experience in fleet management, including vehicle maintenance and compliance, will be critical to ensure smooth transportation operations.
